The Community Shares Booster Fund
Community businesses in England that are looking to launch or in the early stage of launching a community share issue can apply for grants and equity match funding of up to £25,000. The funding is being made available through the Power to Change Community Shares Booster Fund. Two funding streams are available. Development grants – averaging £5,000 are available to prepare a community share offer and Equity match investment of up to £25,000 providing the minimum share offer target is achieved. Initially, applicants need to submit an Expression of Interest. Those successful at this stage will be invited to submit a full application. Expression of Interest can be submitted at any time. Cumbria Community Foundation Grants
Cumbria Community Foundation donors have created the funds and each has there own criteria or area of interest. Most support locally based community and voluntary groups and a number of funds also support individuals.
All you need to do is complete their application form and send it to them with the supporting documents indicated. They encourage you to read the guidance of their funds before applying, however, if you are unsure about the eligibility of your application you can, in the first instance, contact their grants team on 01900 825760.
Cumbria Voluntary Service
Cumbria CVS currently has dedicated funding officers to help your organisation or group. They can:
- Help you to identify sources of funding in order for you to adapt and develop services or help your organisation to survive the current funding crisis
- Provide advice to you on what makes a strong (and therefore more likely to be successful) funding application
- Assist you by reading over and commenting on your application prior to submission to give your application the maximum chance of success
- Help you by asking questions on your behalf to funders prior to submission where possible
- Help you to develop, write and submit funding applications where required if you do not have the capacity to do
