Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership is supporting a new initiative by Westmorland and Furness Council to better understand the health and wellbeing needs of local veterans and their families.
The Council, which reaffirmed its commitment to the Armed Forces by signing the National Armed Forces Covenant in 2023, is developing a Veteran Health Needs Assessment. This work is being led by the Westmorland and Furness Armed Forces Board, chaired by Linda Jones, with support from Public Health.
As part of this assessment, an Insight Survey is now open to gather anonymised responses from local organisations who support, or may come into contact with, veterans and their families. The aim is to understand the wider social, economic and environmental factors affecting veteran wellbeing in the area, and to inform future services and priorities.
We encourage social enterprises, charities, CICs, and community groups across the region to take part.
